Bitget Platform Description

Bitget is a cryptocurrency exchange and trading platform for digital assets, founded in 2018, with its headquarters based in Singapore.

Origins In September 2021, Bitget entered a partnership with Juventus FC, becoming the football club’s first-ever cryptocurrency partner. In 2020, Bitget introduced One-Click Copy Trade, attracting over 55,000 copy traders, and achieving a total trading volume of $300 million. By February 28, 2022, the daily trading volume in derivatives had reached $8.69 billion, marking a 300% increase from the previous year.

Also in September 2021, Bitget formed a partnership with DigiMax, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Early in 2022, Bitget announced its partnership with Turkish football club Galatasaray SK. Later that year, the platform entered into a partnership with the Russian eSports organization Team Spirit.

In April 2022, Bitget introduced automated trading bots on its platform in collaboration with CryptoHero. During the same month, the exchange announced its entry into the Indian market, following the country’s updated cryptocurrency tax policies. In August 2022, Bitget launched a $200 million hedge fund aimed at protecting assets and enhancing security against hacking attempts. The platform was also named the exclusive cryptocurrency partner for the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and PGL Dota 2 Major Arlington 2022 events.

Controversy In 2021, Bitget found itself in controversy in Singapore when it lost its license after announcing the launch of Army Coin, a new K-pop-themed digital currency named after the followers of the popular K-pop boy band BTS. This led to a dispute with the agency representing BTS, Hybe. The following day, Bitget issued a statement denying any connection between the token and the K-pop group.
